The LED Tube Bath Art sconce by George Kovacs is the perfect harmony between sleek, streamlined design and today's quest for energy efficiency, derived from dimmable LED illumination. The elegant combination of etched white opal glass and chrome accents is a perfect complement to any modern bath. This bath bar can be placed both vertically or horizontally creating a limitless world of possibilities. The LED illumination uses a mere 20 Watts of electricity which will exceed 25,000 hours of use. The fixture has a light output of 1237 lumens with a color temperature of 3000 Kelvin while remaining ADA compliant. The best type of color temperature for a bathroom is Cool White/Bright White. Often described as Soft White (2700K-3000K), skin tones look most flattering in medium to warm color temperatures (<3500K). LED light gives this item a uniform light throughout the fixture. Similar items that are lit by an incandescent or fluorescent bulb will have hot spots, in other words, areas that are very bright vs. not so bright.
The best mirror lighting provides light from all sides that minimizes shadows under the chin, eyes, cheeks and forehead. This does not mean that you have to use ""Hollywood"" style lights (strips that use the round light bulbs). A wall sconce on either side of the mirror can work nicely. Normally you want the center of the fixture at about 66 inches above the finished floor and at least 30 inches apart, but these numbers will vary according to the particulars of the room and fixture.
