| This beautiful antique style Oriental coffee table will add an elegant flare to your home decor, and even a Tibetan blessing! Stunningly hand-painted in characteristically Tibetan colors of red, green, and gold, the drawers of this beautiful piece feature a poetic blessing from Tibetan scripture. The drawers are complemented by the rich hand-painted Buddhist symbolism which surrounds them, including the scroll (wisdom), the gourd (longevity), the double fish (fertility), the sacred vase (peace), and the ring of fire (the right of passage toward oneness). The top surface blooms with intricately hand-painted lotus flowers which are a symbol of purity, while a "panchang" or "never-ending knot," runs along the perimeters of the top and sides in a rich gold tone. The black symbols on both sides are stylized depictions of the character "shou," representing longevity. In concert with traditional Chinese artisan techniques, "tongfen" or bronze powder, is mixed with the paint to enhance its brilliance. The two drawers fit squarely and snugly into the front of this unique piece and are traditionally used for the storing of scriptural texts.
