| Celebrate the cycle nature with this exceptional Oriental wood storage cabinet handcrafted and finished in sleek black and gold lacquer, with adornments of extraordinary golden detailing. This arresting creation features four eye-catching panels ornamented with radiant pastel depictions of elegant songbirds fluttering among flowering orchids, delicate peonies, exotic plum blossoms, and dainty chrysanthemums, each bordered with fabulous gold patterning. Shown together, these four flowers represent the four seasons of the year in Chinese tradition, and symbolize harmony, balance and beauty. The golden background is created through color-plating using the "jin gui pai" or "golden turtle armor" method, a traditional technique dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A. D. ) "Tong fen," or bronze powder, is added to the paint to provide extra gleam and the surface is then lacquered in place, creating a lustrous finish. The side panels and top surface are hand-painted with additional floral motifs. The two larger storage compartments below offer ample space for keeping a wide range of sundries well-organized.
