Officially referred to as “The Cathedral of the Protection of the Mother of God”, this beautiful structure was built between 1555 and 1561 to commemorate the capture of the Khanate of Kazan.
In 1588, Tsar Fedor Ivanovich had a chapel added on the eastern side above the grave of a beloved Russian Orthodox Saint, Yurodivy Vassily Blazhenny, also known as Basil Fool for Christ.
This handsome sculpture, created from the World’s Finest Crystal, was designed by award-winning artist, Tom Suzuki.
