can this mirror be hung vertically
This Mirror can be hung in both vertical and horizontal orientation.

is this a normal regular bevel edge on the mirror?
It's not a regular bevel. This is called a u Groove. The way to picture it is imagine a castle with a moat around it. What you're looking at is the moat. We use a round Stone to grind that channel along the edge of the mirror. After its ground it's then polished so it has a shiny look to it.
