What is the length of the cord/chain? my ceilings are 17 feet tall. In case the chain is short, can it be customized on your end?

I have a 2 story ceiling with hanging lights on chains now, and would love to replace the globes. Can I just cut (or have someone do it) the fixture off and put on and rewire a new one? of yours?
