MinkaAire Downrod 18"
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We built a gable patio room and installed a white MinkaAire Fan (included a 6" rod). We purchased the 18" downrod separately to have the fan at the proper height for the patio room. The downrod is sturdy(strong) and well machined (pinholes were correct and threads were also correct). This made for easy rod replacement. It comes covered with a plastic sleeve. We placed extra plastic shrink wrap around the rod to protect it during the installation process. This avoided any nicks or scratches in the rod. It works great and looks great. It matches the MinkaAire Fan perfectly.

good support at Minka central and sturdy strong downrod with all available finishes and lengths all in stock
the fans themselves are overpriced especially for the non-wood blades that appear to be injection mold formed, but the DC motor fans are the most efficient available anywhere. Pay attention to the CFM/watt and do know the ratings are for the highest speed which is least efficient speed. At slower and slowest speeds the CFM/watt efficiencies are close to no electricity at all for their DC motors which now make regular motors obsolete.

Beautiful, unique and quiet!
Beautiful and unique fan! We selected the Distressed Koa finish which is really attractive and looks like real wood. Silent and pushes some air. The remote works well too, so it does not need to be hardwired to a wall switch. We bought a 36” foot extension for our great room and this was the perfect height.

Just What I Needed!
This Minka Aire 18" downrod is the perfect addition to my new 62" Minka Aire Roto XL ceiling fan. I have tall ceilings and needed the fan to drop below the ceiling beams. The finish on the rod matches the fan beautifully...and there were so many choices and sizes to choose from!

Just What Was Needed
We have built an 840 square foot addition with a vaulted ceiling and the down rods were the perfect addition to the two ceiling fans we installed. Because our ceiling peak is 12' high, the fans needed to be lower for greater air movement. The down rods were perfect for the job.

Adapter fine - depending on the fan you are installing.
The adapter was fine for its stated purpose. The only issue was in combination with the Minka Are fan it was very difficult to install the cover cone over the adapter - could not see the screw holes and the screws could have been longer to help with that problem.

MinkaAire Distressed Koa downrod has horrible finish
The downrod had a series of dashes and dots on it in what looked like black magic marker. Not at all like the picture of the rod on the website and certainly not at all like the finish on the actual ceiling fan. Very unhappy with the quality.

Extensions for Fan
These are the extending rods for the two fans. Not much to rate, they matched the fans and were easy to switch with the short ones that came with the fans. They were a bit pricey
for the item, an 18 inch threaded pipe.
