About the Artist: Pedro and his wife Maria come from a beautiful city renowned for its ceramic arts. 'My mother used to craft ceramic masks,' Maria recalls. 'One day when I was 12, I picked up a brush began to paint her ceramics. Nobody taught me, for no one in my family painted their masks. They just sold them for others to paint. I began painting on amate paper as well. Pedro and I always work together, toward a good education for our children. Love and hope keep us together and fill us with happiness.'
