Perched silently on the desktop, the owl is a symbol of wisdom. Smooth glass contours form wide eyes and peaked, ear-like tufts. Seguso Family artisans create a delightful paperweight of Murano glass, highlighted with swirls of ebony. Because each piece is individually crafted by hand, please expect slight variations in shade and pattern.
About the Artist: Present since 1300 in the census books of Murano, Italy, today the prestigious Seguso glass-crafting family has a Brazilian branch. In 1954, Mario Seguso was invited to execute special commemorative pieces for the 400th anniversary of the city of Spo Paulo. Enchanted by Brazil, he decided to settle there and, after years of supervising the production of artisan crystal, he assured its continuity through his sons Michel and Adriano.
The Seguso Family Artisan Collection is brought to you by Novica in Association with National Geographic. This beautiful piece was handcrafted by Seguso Family in Brazil. An artisan story card will be included with your purchase.
