Vagabond House is American designed tableware that uses only the highest quality materials. The mushrooms springing from the sides of these interesting boards are cast pewter turkey tail shelf mushrooms, which are fond of growing from fallen makha hardwoods. Each arrangement on these naturally shaped boards is slightly different. These trays are hand-carved from the remains of massive root systems that were sitting the swamps long after the trees were gone to make way for agriculture. Each piece of wood is over 50 years old and is now being reclaimed and valued once again. Perfect for our uses, makha wood has a hardness index comparable to the finest chopping boards in the industry with gorgeous natural color and intricate marbling it is incredibly desirable. Because of its scarcity our supply is limited and yet we couldn‘t resist because of its beauty. Vagabond pewter will tarnish very slowly and requires little maintenance. To clean your pewter after use, hand wash in warm water using liquid dish soap. Dry the pewter completely in order to prevent the water droplets from spotting the pewter. If you wish to polish your pewter, most metal polishes can be used. Because pewter is a soft metal, mildly abrasive metal polishing creams can buff out scratches and bring luster back to a frequently used piece.
