Seeded glass lends a lovely touch to any light fixture. Made by forcing air into the glass during the production process – which produces an effect of small and large bubbles permeating the plain, colored, clear or opaque glass – seeded glass makes for lovely chandeliers that match a range of home decoration schemes.
Some of these seeded glass pieces come with only three lights for a more understated approach. Consider, for instance, the Sea Gull Lighting Acadia Misted Bronze Three-Light Chandelier, which would look perfect hanging over a long dining room table singly or in a pair. (Note you can get the same chandelier in an eco-friendly Energy Star version.)
If you’re a fan of lots of lights, try the similar Sea Gull Lighting Trempealeau Roman Bronze Twelve-Light Chandelier with Champagne Seeded, its dozen little lamps the perfect simulacrum of candlelight in an Old World manor. More modern versions include the George Kovacs Light Rain Copper Bronze Patina Six-Light Chandelier, with six shades that look like highball glasses.Seeded glass chandeliers come in smoky versions, where glass is opaque and light takes on a misty quality, as well as clear versions, where the bubbles sparkle like little gems. If you’ve got a more modern look, with a lot of clean surfaces and bright colors, the clear glass might be just the ticket. On the other hand, if you prefer muted earth tones and wooden accents, search the listings for a bronze or misted seeded glass chandelier.
