Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Furniture but a Nightmare to Assemble So, I think that overall this is a gorgeous piece of furniture and it seems quite sturdy. That said, the assembly was difficult enough that I really have to mention it. The dowels that were supplied were all smaller than the holes they were supposed to be placed in, which meant that they did not fig snugly and prevent any sort of motion during assembly. This made steps 8 and 10 essentially impossible, and I damaged a joint in the process, though it seems that the structure is still sturdy. Some of the images in the instructions were also incorrect about the placement of the dowels. The doors to the cabinet also can't be removed once they are put in place, and though they are marked, I ended up missing the marking and putting in one of the top doors upside down and was then unable to remove it. I really think that there should be either much clearer marking or a more forgiving method of attaching the doors. I ended up solving it by unscrewing the metal plaques and re-screwing them to the upper end. Though one of the screws had its head stripped off while doing it so I had to. It came together well, but it was really much more difficult than it needed to be. I guess I said I'd recommend the product to a friend because it looks nice and seems sturdy, but it would be with reservations. The assembly process really needs to be improved.
