It says 35" height but can it actually be shorter than that if you use less chain?

It days the overall fixture is 120". Can you please explain? I was hoping fixture height was 36"( where 3 chairs come together) and a si fir chain continued to canopy at ceiling. Is there a spec sheet? Thank you.
