It says "wide, open bottom." It does not show the light bulbs in the picture though. Is it an open shade with no glass in the opening? So you can see the bulbs?

Yes, this fixture comes with the open-bottom shades and we can able see the bulbs. The pictures are for illustration purpose only. The bulbs are not included with this product.
