The finial only holds the downrod in place. If you look at the bottom, it is welded so the bottom does NOT come off. Apparently this lamp was redesigned and the instruction sheet has not been updated. Cool lamp. Stupid design.,

This lamp does not seem to assemble as shown on instruction sheet. The bottom is supposed to come off, it does not. How do you change a light bulb when necessary?
To open the Outdoor Hanging Pendant, unscrew the bottom finial and the whole bottom piece will come off.
