Is this fixture bronze? It looks black to me. Also, is it white inside shade? Can each shade be adjusted independently? It looks like it can. And, can the cord be shortened? Is it three separate cords, or all one?

They are actually aged bronze in color the lining to the shades are indeed white. The fixture has a separate corde for each pendant and they can be adjusted separately. As to wether you can shorten the cords, I do not have an answer to that, the fixture did not need that for my room

ceiling height is 13'. will this work or do I need to add cord and utilize a weight to make this work and drop from 7' to 6' from floor

Minimum hanging height is 55" for this Island Pendant. So, no need any extra cord or weight to achieve a 6 or 7 feet hanging height.

Can the length of the cords be cut to desired length? Is it adaptable for installation when ceiling height is 8' and island is 42"?

Yes, the cords can be cut to attain desired length. The overall hanging height of the pendant is 55.5"-inches. When the ceiling height is 8"(96 inches) and the island is 42"-inches, the 55.5"-inch hanging isn't adaptable; however by cropping the cords, you may hang the pendant at the desired height.
