I purchased this for a long, fairly dark and narrow bathroom tub area. Fit the bill perfectly! The home is a craftsman/mission style home and this light fixture is a great compliment to the décor. Solid quality and so pretty. Would definitely purchase this fixture if given the need.

Could a pull chain be added for on/off ?
I don't believe so. Mine is wired to a wall switch however one of the big box stores like Lowes or Home Depot might have a kit that can be adapted.

Is this fixture dimmable?
yes. We have a dimmer switch. The solid lampshades don't allow much light except for directly under the fixture so we usually keep it on the brightest setting.

How weatherproof is this fixture? I would be using it on an outdoor patio without very much protection from the Florida elements.
This Pendant is Exterior Damp Rated. The damp rated items can be used in the location that is normally or periodically subject to condensation of moisture in, on or adjacent to the item. It is highly recommended to install the damp rated unit under a covering where water does not leak directly onto the unit.

What is the diameter of each shade and "damp location" can this be used as a porch light up in a trade ceiling?
The shade measures 9.75" H x 10.25" W -inch. Yes, Outdoor Damp Locations include covered patios and covered porches that are fully protected from water, even during storms.

Flush mounted what does this measure from top to bottom ? I want for over a kitchen island with 8 ft ceilings
Flush mounted it is 17 inches from the ceiling to the bottom of the cage or 15 inches without the cage (but the cage looks really cool!). I think it would work great for an 8ft ceiling.
