NOT galvanized!
This is listed under "color" as galvanized however it is merely powder coated a gray color. I ordered 7 of these with shades (which are actually galvanized) and several are completely corroded within a year, and the rest are catching up. I do not live right on the water but I am about 2,000 feet from a salt water harbor so I acknowledge mine is a harsh environment. I have searched for a truly hot dipped galvanized gooseneck to no avail. Be warned - these won;t hold up in a marine environment

Different finish
I ordered this arm with the "galvanized" finish expecting the piece to be hot dipped galvanized. The finish is a powder coat finish in a grey color. I think this is very misleading. Had I wanted a color i would have expected powder coat. The mating shade I ordered in "galvanized" was a mix - the sheetmetal shade was galvanized but the cap that holds the socket is powder coat silver.
This will be installed outside in a marine environment - we'll see how it holds up....

Not really galvanized....
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I searched a lot for a truly galvanized fixture - to no avail. There is nothing in the description of the "galvanized" fixture to indicate this is NOT galvanized but rather a silver powder coat finish. I am in a marine environment a really wanted a true, hot dipped galvanized finish for both aesthetics and durability. Time will tell how it holds up.....

Seem to be good quality. They are unfortunately still in the boxes. They are going in a new construction home and we are not ready to hang fixtures yet. I ordered them a little early to get some measurements off of them to help determine some of the rough in box heights

Perfect Lights!
