Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this light! This light is too cute for words. It looks so much more interesting than our old one. We purchased several to replace all outside lights. The only con (if it is one) is that the base is long and narrow and if installing on siding or any other not flat surface, there are places that do not meet the siding (all I can think of is bugs bugs bugs in there!). Moisture may also become an issue. But, for now, we are thrilled and love the new lights.

WHat is the white looking cover? Does it have to be used.

It is not a white cover, but a cage. The cage can also be either unscrewed in the back and removed or not used at all.
