Poor light and doesn't dim adequately--flickers
Very disappointed. Bought this fan to replace an older fan/light combo in my daughters room. It looks fine and while I wouldn't call it silent when running, its pretty quiet. I am most annoyed that a) the light is extremely dim and b) the dimmer function is essentially useless, any dimming at all results in annoying flickering or turning off. The Hampton Bay fan in my sons room is completely silent after 8 years and dims smoothly. Wish they still made the same style or I would have bought it. Instead we tried the Minka Aire and I am really really not liking it. Don't buy it.

Pretty good compact fan
We love this fan but it is not without its quirks, setting two of them up close together caused us some controller problems at first, there was about an hour struggled on first install to get the controller to work at all, and installing it requires some serious arm strength as you try to cram all the wires and stuff together on the tiny mounting plate.
That said, once this is all handled, we love the fan and the performance is great. It is nice and compact, makes zero noise and puts out a TON of light.
Would love to know or be able to put this on a dimmer but we haven't investigated that, it may or may not be possible. But the fact that a dimmer option is not built in or obvious is why I'm giving this fan four out of five stars.

Excellent choice
This is an excellent purchase and a high quality fan. It is the second one I have acquired. It's very well built and is particularly smooth-running. It has multi-speeds, reverse motion, and operates with a remote unit.
The only downside was with the 100w halogen lamp included with the unit. I was glad that it was included. Per instructions, I carefully installed it making sure not to get body oils on the lamp. However, the lamp burned out within an hour of installation. I suspect it already had been improperly handled before it was packed. I replaced it with another, making sure to clean it with alcohol even as it was taken from the package. This one has worked very well ever since.
Despite that, I would strongly recommend this ceiling fan.

I have 3 now - enough said
I bought my first Minka Aire in 2004 when they still had a conventiaonl light bulb. I purchased two more this year. (I like the new miniature light bulbs. The fan features a three speed remote control, it's quite, and the remote makes reversing the fan very easy. The three blades seem to move the aire just fine. The electrician that helped me install it said it was the easiest install of a fan he has done. (He said that when he saw me snap the blades in in about 30 seconds). So far, my three fans (2 stainless and 1 brushed) have been terrific.

We really like it!
We bought this light/fan combo about 6 years ago when we updated our bedroom in a midcentury modern house. We had 8' ceilings, and this was perfect. It is quiet, but puts out a good amount of air- there was no air conditioning in our old house. The style fit with our brushed nickel fixtures and black/grey/white color scheme. We moved 2 years ago into a 100 year old Craftsman home. We brought the fan with us because we loved it so much! Now, it fits perfectly with the old double-hung windows, picture moulding, and hardwood floors in my son's room. We have used white cottons, navy linen and pops of red and it looks wonderful in this setting as well. The design is solid and it puts out a good amount of light, without feeling like a fluorescent shop light overhead.

Licensed Electrician disappointed in design
Installed this fan in my own home. I've been in the electrical field for over 12 years. The fan looks great but designed poorly. This fan can ONLY be controlled by a remote control. Every fan I've ever installed gives the option between a wall switch and remote control but not these guys. After speaking with Minka aire I found a wall switch that only they make (surprise, surprise). Bought the special Minka Aire wall switch and found now that the remote control wont work in tandem with the switch. Also, the switch glows BRIGHT BLUE at night via an LED. What a stupid design. So now in order to use my fan at night I have to look at a bright blue light emitting from my wall. All Minka aire had to say is "sorry". What a waste of a good looking fan. Very poorly designed.

Great Look and Great Fan
We purchased this fan (in the white finish) for our kitchen based on the smaller size and height of the room, the modern look and style and the amount of air movement we were needing...and this fan satisfies them all. It looks great, it is extremely quiet and it fits snug against the ceiling, with plenty of head room. The halogen light is not real bright, but we have 2 other lights (over the sink and in the bay window area of the kitchen) to compensate for any extra light needed. This fan is well worth the price!

Exactly as expected
I had a little trouble with installing this item since my ceiling was not set up for the weight of it, but once I did get it installed using a true ceiling fan j-box, it worked perfectly. The remote was easy to use and the fan is whisper quiet. The light is a little too direct to effectively light the whole room, but if you have task lighting--for mirrors, reading, etc.-this light has a nice glow in the area it does light up. The dimmer gives a lot of options for our bedroom. We are very happy with the purchase.

Best flush mount fan ever...
Bought two of these fans for my teenage daughters South facing bedrooms that get very warm. Small rooms so used them for the primary light also. The white is nice and clean looking, the brushed nickel stands out more and adds more accent to a room. Looked a little bigger than online but they loved them. Queit, nice air flow, remote is excellant. Install was smooth with added reinforcement from hardware store minimal cost. I shopped local stores and no one had these best price was with lighting direct.

smart and clean
We chose a white fan for our kitchen because we wanted it to be unobtrusive rather than decorative. Other white fans we looked at in stores looked "cheap" but this one looks modern and streamlined. Super quiet on all speeds. Provides a soft light; not bright, so if this is your main lighting for the area, keep that in mind. Our ceilings are 8 ft. and this fan's blades meet the recommended clearance. The kitchen is more comfortable now with some air circulating! Very happy with this purchase.

The fan was easy to install and is everything it was advertised to be. The low-profile combination of ceiling fan and light makes it seem like there is nothing hanging over you, especially as quiet as this fan runs. The adjustable speeds for the fan and dimmer feature for the light enable you to adjust the environment exactly to your preference, and is especially convenient with the remote control. I am more than pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this fan to others.

Fan blends into the ceiling
Why do people install those hideously ugly ceiling fans with dangling tulip lights and a motor that hums and buzzes? I bought this fan in white so it would blend into the ceiling color and not be so obvious. Three blades don't block the ceiling like the 5-bladed one it replaced. The blades are airfoil-shaped and assembled easily into the housing with a spring-loaded "snap". It is quiet, with no vibration, and moves more air with less noise than the old one. Good value for the money.

we bought this flushmount lighted ceiling fan for the bedroom.It is the perfect size for medium sized room.Installation was a breeze partley because the remote receiver comes factory installed. Fan blades install without hardware by push fit.The fan is whisper quiet with no wobble. Nickle finish is very stylish. Unit comes with remote control witch also has light dimmer.The light is 100 watt halogen and while being adequit could be brighter.Overall am very pleased with this purchase

Very practical - not many nooks and crannies to collect dust. This fan moves a lot of air and does it quietly. Multiple fans can be set to run from the same remote, or they can be controlled separately. We've had seven installed (in two houses) over the past six years - I've looked at other fans when remodeling but keep coming back to these. There aren't many fans that fit <12" from the ceiling - good for tall households. Electricians reported no problems with installation.

Excellent Fan!!
I could tell as soon as I opened the box that this was a quality product. The fan is heavier than most that are the same size which is likely why it is so quiet when running.
It is very easy to install, clean and classy looking and very quiet (except on the highest setting - you do not hear the fan, you hear the amount of air it is moving).
I love the fan and I would most certainly recommend it - the low profile is also absolutely perfect in my new kitchen. Everyone that comes in to my new kitchen comments on how nice the fan looks.
I would recommend also buying the wall mounted switch (as the fan comes with a wall mountable remote which is nice but does not fit in to an electrical box) - by having both I am able to control the fan/light from either-both entrances to the kitchen. I love the remote too - great product!!!

great fan
we purchased the 44" minka aire fan and wall switch for a small bedroom with a sloped ceiling. it's perfect. there's a nice breeze under the fan and i love how we can use the remote or the wall control. lighting direct was great with their customer service as i had a few questions before making my purchase. they were very quick to get back to me with the information and my fan arrived earlier than expected. i would recommend this fan and lighting direct.

We have a small bedroom with a low ceiling, so this fan caught our eyes with its' flush mount and sleek design. I was glad we read the customer reviews and purchased a special mounting brace because the fan is definitely heavy for its compact size. It is super quiet on all speeds and circulates the air nicely. The only thing that is a little disappointing is that the light is really dim; it doesn't sufficiently light the room on a dark day.

Easy Installation
I read some of the one and two star reviews before purchasing this fan. Now that i have installed it (first time installer) within an hour (most of the time it took to take the old one apart and get it down off the ceiling) I love it! I wasn't exactly sure about the old wiring in my condo, but I purchased the wall remote instead of using a handheld remote (there are enough of those around the house) I turned it on without the blades and it worked! Everything worked fine. So I put in the lightbulb and cover and blades, and I was done. it is completely silent, just like my other 2 larger Minka Aire Fans I bought in 2005 and they are still like new. This brand I would recommend to anyone buying a new fan that needs a smaller blade length. I put mine in the kitchen and replaced an ugly small ceiling fan that was cheap and noisy and was hard to clean.

Best fan I've ever experienced!
My electrician loves this fan too! If I want to reverse the spin, I don't even have to turn it off! It slows down, stops itself, then starts up in the opposite direction. It's quiet and very cool in all senses of the word! Highly recommend it, even in a French Country kitchen like mine. No need to upload image. It's the white model. I recommend installing the optional light because, whether or not you use it, it's unobtrusive.

Nice Fan
I just put this up in our master bedroom. It looks great. It completely changed the look of our room.
It was pretty easy to install. good instructions. The only thing i would recommend is wiring the remote box and getting it mounted to the fan before even attempting to hang it.
The fan is very quiet, has adjustable dimming on the light, and the remote works great.
I just bought another one in white for my daughters room.

I really like the fan. It has a very unique look. Everyone comments on it, and says it is very nice and unusual. It is quiet and creates alot of air for only having 3 blades. The only thing I am not completely happy with is the color of the blades. I thought they would be the same color as the mounting and they are not. I would recommend this to anyone who wants something that looks different than the ordinary ceiling fan.

Clinking and rattling
I bought this fan and paid an electrician to install it.
Almost immediately, I had problems with clinking and rattling noises. I ultimately had to return the fan and get a replacement and pay to have it installed again.
This time, it lasted several month before I started to get the same clinking at rattling noises. So now I am off to find another fan, because this one obviously has some kind of serious design flaw.

Beautiful, easy install
I have installed numerous lighting fixtures, including a chandelier, by myself (not easy!) while hubby at work. I am 40+ year old woman. This is the easiest thing I have ever installed. The remote control feature is excellent. I wanted a lighted fixture that was close to the ceiling and this fits the bill perfectly. Quality product that is beautiful as well as functional. Will be getting another for living room.

Nice product
The operation of the fan is nice and it the design is nice, but the actual housing is a bit larger than I thought. If you have a small room it may be overpowering looking. The remote feature is nice as well. Make sure you have the proper support 'cuz this is no lightweight. Installation didn't seem hard, but I hired an electrician because I didn't have the proper fan box and support bar between the joists.

Great ceiling fan
I needed a low profile, preferably 3-bladed ceiling fan and couldn't find one at any of the big box stores. The Concept II was exactly what I needed. It was easy to install, it's the quietest fan I have. The only noise I hear is the moving air. The remote is great, in our situation the the wall switches are in another room, so they stay on and we control light and fan via remote. And it has great look.

Nice look
This fan is great for homes that don't have high ceilings. It looks great and is very simple design.
I only wish the light was a tad brighter.
You could use both the wall outlet and remote. Not one or the other.
I've only had it for a few weeks but I enjoy it. For a room that doesn't have lots of room this ads a nice decoration and good lighting source along with energy savings for winter months.

love it!
Love it. This fan looks beautiful and was easy to install. My son helped me. It is a bit heavy so I recomend a helper. The fan runs very quietly and puts out good air flow. I've never had a remote controlled ceiling fan before and find it awesome. I will probably get one or more additional fans like this to replace ones I already have since I'm so pleased with this one. I highly recommend it.

I purchased this for my new condo. It had been recommended by a new neighbor. Out electrician put in the new ceiling box, but I did the rest. It was a little tricky for one person, but I eventually got it wired and up, It is soundless and very good looking. It lights my new bedroom very nicely. I had been looking for a mid-sized stylish fan that I could put in myself. This one fit the bill.

Incredible customer service!!
This fan was easy to install. It didn't turn out to move as much air as we had thought it would. Customer service was incredibly helpful and helped us to exchange it for the larger model. Now that we have the appropriately sized model, we enjoy it. It is quiet and makes the room much more comfortable. It was a pleasure doing business with LightingDirect and we highly recommend them.

Powerful yet quiet fan all operated by remote
We had this fan installed just last week and I can tell you how much we love it - the install was easy, the fan is quiet and looks fabulous and it is so powerful so far we have only had it up to medium. I love the remote and the fact it has a winter and summer option (one season it pushes air up, the other down) fabulous...I am very satisfied with the product and the quick delivery.
