Expected better from MinkaAire
This is the third MinkaAire fan and I expected the same quality and high function. The fan was difficult to assemble/hang/connect to electrical and the remote only functions if the battery compartment is left open. Then the light wouldn't shut off. It was not until I downloaded their app and connected the fan to the app would the light shut off. There was no indication in the specs nor instructions that the fan would not communicate effectively with the remote and that one had to enable the smart features and connect to wifi in order to use the fan. Customer service at MinkaAire was somewhat helpful but didn't know if connecting to WiFi would resolve part of the issue. The fan motor also makes a loud clunking noise upon start up of the fan. That has not been resolved.
