Can this lamp be ran on a di. At switch and do installing instructions come with lamp?

Yes to dimmer on switch. I believe there were instructions but our electrician son did the install. Like these lights very much!

does this require assembly

It requires an electrician to install.   You can take it out of box if u like and inspect but electrician can do it all.   You will need the necessary light bulbs and a wall switch.

Can this be used in a rarely used half bath?

Absolutely, you can use this light in bath.   I put two in an upper cottage bedroom along the center of an A-frame ceiling.   I have a ceiling fan between them.   the ceiling is white washed rough sewn reclaimed pine with dark beams.

Is this light fixture okay in a bathroom even though it is dry rated?
