Can this fan be installed without the rod, so that it's flush to the ceiling? Or is the rod adjustable?
The fan cannot be installed flush to the ceiling. It comes with 2 downrods: 1- 3.5 Inches and 1-6 Inches and no the rods are not adjustable.

Can the light part be removed if I want a fan without the light kit?
Thanks for reaching out to us. If you decide not to use the light kit, there will be visible holes on the cap where the light kit should have been attached. This may void the warranty too.
