The Berkshire Curbside Mailbox presents an impressive face. The one piece cast aluminum door features deeply cut details with a rich, leather grain textured panel. The stainless steel spring hinge and magnetic catch will keep the door secure and the rust proof cast aluminum body construction creates a weather resistant mailbox. Newspaper Tube is included. Rated 2 out of 5 by EBG87 from Not Exactly What I Expected The mailbox looks good but there are some problems with the item. First, the US Post Office wants the mailbox to be 41 - 45" from the ground. Because the post itself is 42" and there is a newspaper tube the mailbox comes in at about 47" above the ground -- not good. The advertised direct burial kit has poor instructions -- parts in the diagram do not match parts in the box, not enough verbal instruction to supplement the diagrams and requires concrete even though advertised as for burial in soil. Because of the height from the post base to the mailbox it tends to be wobbly. If given the chance to buy this again, I would NOT buy it.
