Great looking mailbox with some flaws…
Overall it’s a great looking mailbox but a few flaws. I think providing a piece of scrap wood as the base seems a little cheap. Second, the flag scrapes the side of the mailbox if you raise and lower it. I tried to bend it outward a bit, but I probably won’t use it anyway. Third, the magnet is much too strong. Opening the door took a significant amount of effort. Like another reviewer did I put tape over it so the postal worker wouldn’t complain! But I’ve learned you get what you pay for. I got another mailbox from Home Depot that looks similar to this, but it was a total piece of junk. The door was only attached by one flimsy hinge on each corner, which took a grand total of 25 seconds literally to fall apart.

Super sturdy heavy duty mailbox
Super sturdy heavy duty mailbox. The magnet to the door was way too strong so I covered it with a few layers of painters tape to lessen it a bit. The flag edges were a sharp so I had to dull them myself. I love how large it is, you can fit small packages in it. It seems so much more luxurious than the mailbox it replaced. Does wonders for curb appeal.

Is there a way to see the hinge as well as the mounting holes that are pre-drilled?
Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, we have an image that shows the hinge, kindly refer to this item id 90716 (SCC-1008-BLK). The mailbox is sent with a pine board that attaches underneath the mailbox and attaches by 4 wood screws (2 on each side).

Could max 2" tall numbers be added to the front door? Side mounted numbers won't work for my application.

What are the dimensions of this mailbox? I will be securing it to a wooden post that is sort of L shaped. So mailbox will sit on the Long side of the L. Do I need any brackets to secure?

Can this mailbox be used as in insert in a brick column?
Yes, that would be on the installer end. If the brick column has an insert they would have to measure the insert to see if our mailbox would fit inside.
