how much weight can this shelf hold?
The system for hanging this shelf makes it very secure. First you anchor wood blocks, included in the set, onto the wall. The shelf has an open back so you slip it over the blocks, then secure the shelf to the blocks from the top, anchored this way the shelf can't pull out from the wall...it's resting on the blocks.
While I don't know how much weight it would hold, I wouldn't hesitate to use it as a hardcover bookshelf or anything else that would be that heavy.

How is the shelf attached to the wall? French cleat or other method?
This Floating Shelf is mounted by using a hidden Mounting bracket that is screwed into the drywall with anchor screws.
