Rated 3 out of 5 by Greg from Great looking fan Great looking fan, but ran into problems after installation. Faulty receiver in fan that interacts with remote control, your only means of controlling fan. Since I already had two other MinkaAire fans I needed to change the factory set code but was unable to do so. Contacted MinkaAire who immediately identified the problem and sent the replacement part quickly. Unfortunately I needed to call the electrician back which resulted in a second charge. The 3 blades really do move the air. Directly over bed, so only use on low. Unfortunately there is still a bit of motor hum which was unexpected in a fan of this price, and was the reason I was replacing my previous fan. Since I'm a light sleeper, it is a bit annoying.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Steve 48 from Nice fan but........ Fan is attractive but was not easily installed on our sloped ceiling. It was very difficult to put the cover over the electrical box - screws were a bit short and I found it impossible to install the second screw due to no visibility as to where the hole was. We returned the first fan we received as after I installed it and turned it on, it buzzed noticeably - not good for a bedroom. The second fan still makes a small amount of noise but is much quieter than the first. BTW these were the 5th and sixth ceiling fans I have installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KellyS from Beautiful fan for people who don't like the look of ceiling fans I have a more mid-century/modern decor and do not like the look of traditional fans. This fan is beautiful in my family room. I have 10' ceilings and ordered the 18" drop. I hired an electrician to install and he installed very quickly and easily. I do not hear any hum from the fan, even on high. The brightest setting is very bright. Fortunately it's dimmable. It's a built in LED so if that goes out, you would need to replace the fan. I was worried the 52"/3 blades wouldn't put out enough air but it's perfect for this size space.

It does not fit, the screwed portion is wrong and the cables are for something else. Will return this tomorrow. The Fan is beautiful and really enhances our living room. BUT, after over 2 hours trying to install it all we can do is Max light (not dimmable; or Max speed fan( not adjustable) or both max light and max fan. A Fan installer tried to make it work and could not. It does not matter, we only wanted it to look nice and provide light, we never use fans. I wish we could dim the light. Oh Well-3 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by Eric42 from Simply beautiful Just installed this beauty. It was the easiest fan I've installed, most of the work can be done on a table, only the wiring overhead. It is light, perfectly balanced, whisper quiet and just the right conversation piece for the room. I took down an 80lb fan. Yes, 80lbs. While that one was substantial and sturdy, it does not seem to be made better. The MinkaAire is simply made of lightweight materials, not cheap ones. After removal of the old fan, the total install time on this one was about 15 minutes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by kate from Blinding Light was easy to install, pretty, seemed good quality, but when we turned it on it was blinding. Like a spot light. We were installing the fan/light in our bedroom and there is no way I would be able to function with this light. When I was debating with my husband on whether to keep it or not, I would look at the light and then back at him and I couldn't see his face because the light was messing with my eyes, that's how bright it is. The dim makes it less bright, but still blinding somehow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by griffon1 from Looks nice in silver Our new home required ceiling fans for the bedrooms. The style had to be contemporary and the color brushed nickel or similar. These came in silver and that was close enough. The installation was fairly simple and took about 30 minutes for each fan. Prior to purchasing I did some WWW investigation and one item indicated this fan makes a slight buzzing sound from the AC motor and running the fan for 24 hours would minimize the sound. This was indeed correct. This fan has a RC but reverse is not available via the RC. To reverse the fan requires using a switch on the fan. Beware, if you install on a high vaulted ceiling you might want to get a fan with a reverse built into the RC else you'll need a step ladder to flip the switch to change blade direction. Most important is my wife is extremely happy with this fan. Need I say more?

Can this fan be ceiling mounted without the down pole?

Hello, I am sorry to say that this fan will require at least the 6" DR that comes with the fan. Ceiling to lowest point is 13.75". Distance from blades to ceiling is 8.5". THX

Yes, the fan can be operated using the RCS213: 3-Speed remote, light dimming (manual reverse switch on motor).
