Brand Story
Two brothers, convinced that family matters above all, brought Maxim Lighting® to fruition. Creating a company founded on family values passed down to them for generations, they've used their values of compassion, leadership, respect, collaboration and loyalty to build Maxim Lighting into a lighting leader. Those brothers, Jacob and Zvi Sperling, made sure everyone from designers to manufacturers to sales reps function as a family, committed to meeting the needs of each other and, of course, their customers.
The Sperlings are still very much a part of Maxim's vision moving forward. Today, Jacob oversees Maxim's China and West Coast operations, while Zvi heads up marketing and sales in the United States. Maxim Lighting keeps up with market demand and sets its own design trends, adding ET2 Contemporary Lighting™, to the family of brands in 2004. Still, traditional styling remains Maxim's top market. With some of the industry’s best designers, engineers and manufacturers, the brand remains dedicated to innovative lighting solutions. Maxim provides more than 1,000 pieces suitable for residential and commercial use. These lighting designs reflect heritage and history as Maxim taps into the world’s rich cultures and customs to offer the comfort of tradition in a new era.
Maxim doesn't stop there. In an effort to give lighting shoppers the best choices, the brand also offers a huge selection of transitional lighting, a new twist on traditional often sought by the latest generation of homeowners. With nearly 600 designs at a mid-market value, each family of fixtures consists of multiple-sized chandeliers, flush, semi-flush, sconces, multiple-sized indoor vanity lights, plus outdoor wall mounts, post mounts, pendants and flush mounts.
Maxim offers fixtures that are Energy Star compliant, now offering more than 200 pieces that now carry the energy-efficiency rating. Furthering its commitment to the environment, Maxim carries a "Dark Sky" line of outdoor fixtures with stylish design and stunning finishes that put more light where it's needed, helping preserve delicate ecologies sensitive to light's effects.
Still innovating, Maxim continues to introduce niche and signature collections, while it works to offer solutions for the modern home. Under cabinet lighting and LED tape lighting have become increasingly important categories in recent years, and Maxim has designs that address each. Plus, the brand introduced Vivex™, an exclusive material that sets a new standard in outdoor lighting. Vivex fixtures are non-corrosive, UV resistant and have twice the strength of the industry-standard polyurethane resin used in most outdoor lighting.
