how wide is the base and is it a cool tone light? Or warm tone. Can it be dimmed? Does the fixture get hot.

The dimension of the back plate is 4 1/2-inch H X 4 1/2-inch W. This bulb gives soft white tone. It is non-dimmable. This fixture does not get hot easily.
