Can this be left outdoors on a patio?

I don’t think it’s intended for outdoor use, as the legs are metal and probably would rust, but I suppose you could use it outdoors if you don’t mind that sort of wear. The table top seems to be a sort of sealed hard plastic, so it would probably be OK outdoors. I’d be more worried about the metal hinges and legs rusting.

In my opinion yes. I actually decided to turn it into my work desk lol sounds crazy but it's just so long and too low to be a dining table.

Can just one leaf be opened up if desired, or is it either both or neither?

Yes, since the leaves run the length of the table, only one or the other at a time can be opened.
