Good fan, poor light
As a fan, this is a good unit. It looks nice, it moves air, and the installation isn't too bad (could be better, but not horrid). However, as a light this thing is horrible. It comes with what is supposed to be a 1600 lumens bulb (Warning: Halogen E11 Bulb), but the light output barely reaches anywhere and looks far darker than a fixture with 2 640 lumen A19 blubs in it. This is partly due to the EXTREMELY directional lighting kit, which does a good job of lighting things directly under it (to the point of being a spotlight), but leaves things even a meter to the side is shadow. For anything more than 2 meters away from the fixture, another light source will likely be needed. The small E11 bulb also does not seem to help matters, further concentrating the light.

Poor lighting. Great style and fan
Looks great! Fan great and quiet. Light is horrible... is there a CLEAR C
glass dome lense replacement vs. the white fogged lense that comes stock. A clear lense or just a very subtle satin texture to a CLEAR GLASS dome option would do the trick.... recommend this if u want a fan and have other righting in the room... do not buy if you intend to use as a single light source.

I love mine
Had them 5 years now. On the lowest speed they still run dead silent. I have 3. The one in my bedroom runs every night year round. Each one is customized to match the decor of the room it's in. I've got many comments on them. The one in the living room is striking with it's long, black blades. The short blades on the one in the office keep the air flow away from my desk to avoid blowing the papers around. These fans are expensive and spare remotes cost a fortune. The lamp does not get bright.

Beautiful Fan, cannot dim light
I have an Arkwright fan newly installed. It's a beautiful fan. But I am unable to dim the light. I see a reference in the manual to a DIP switch setting for the type of light installed. The switch is set to X. I have no idea what type of light it is. I've tried setting the switch to D but that made matters worse. So I've left it at X. The manual is very confusing about the operation of the light. Please advise - thx
