Is the color of this more gold or silver?

I own this light, as well as 2 of the matching pendants. In my opinion it is more of a gold than silver, BUT, the gold is very muted, washed out looking. Hope this helps you.

It says the height is 15 inches, does that mean once mounted from the ceiling that it will come down 15 inches?  I have 8 ft ceilings and want to make sure that it won't come down too far.
