My fan does not come on, but the light does. Does the switch have a capacitor/fuse in it that might be my problem?

can I replace existing wall switch that is this exact one (same companydesign) but that does NOT have the reverse function with this switch without having to replace the receiver? I don't want to take the fan apart but I do want the reverse functionality

No, it is not recommended to replace a Fan control switch with reverse with a non reverse control switch. The circuit itself might differ which leads to a different electrical issue later on.
