Nice Look - Poor Design/Quality
I bought three of these for a covered porch (damp rated). After having the main part of the fixture installed we all (me, contractor, electrician) became worried that the glass covers would only to sit in the cup with small rubbery pads to prevent it from falling out. We thought and thought about how to secure. Finally, when we moved forward on this and unpacked all the glass we found that the third box actually has thicker, slightly threaded glass - it doesn't even match the other two! In the unpacking (which, due to the delay in figuring out how to deal with the glass, was outside of the return period), it was also discovered that two glass pieces were broken. Bottom line: not well designed or made. Sadly, these will have to be used - without glass - as VERY expensive, temporary chandeliers.

I don't know. When I bought it, it was supposed to be for outdoors.

Are the glass cylinders secured in their mounts or do they simply sit atop the lights?
They don't screw on but are secure with rubber caskets.

Can the bottom ring be manufactured so that the lights are facing down?

Does this light have an outlet plug or does it require mounting to electrical box? We have a large tree we are looking to hang a chandelier in.
