Beautiful fixture! Exactly what I needed
I purchased this Fan d'lier in the brushed nickel for my breakfast area and it is beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. Had wanted LED bulbs initially but the CFL are so much better as it adds a softer, yet bright light for the room that is absolutely perfect. Light looks more yellow in the photo that it really is. I had it installed by an electrician and they were impressed with it as well. First time they had installed a fan d' lier. Installation was smooth and easy - even in the cathedral ceiling. The fan is very quiet, no movement or balancing issues. Love the ionize feature that circulates the air. With windows on three sides plus skylights this fixture was the perfect solution to help cool the room as well as add much needed overhead light in the evenings - elegant combo in one fixture. I will be ordering a longer down rod as my electricians found a peak box that allowed for mounting in the center of the cathedral ceiling vs at a angle or slope.

Can this be used on sloped ceilings and to what degree?
One suggestion - I thought I was going to have to install this fixture on a slope rather than centered in my cathedral ceiling however, my electrician told me about a peak box that allowed them to install in the center - no slope, and no damage to drywall and costly subsequent repairs! If you prefer to avoid slope mounting you may want to explore the peak box. Not all electrical suppliers sell it - oddly enough as this was a life saver for me.

Can the height of the pole be shortened. Also the 3 to 9 wattage seems extremely low.
I was told by my electrician that the pole for this unit is unique and does not have the standard screw ends like those you would purchase from a big box store. I didn't see the ends (was already hanging when I decided I wanted it lower than the 18" down rod included with the fixture). I am deciding between longer lengths that are available. Customer service has already loaded the sku in their system for me to order the longer lengths that I'm considering. It appears you will need to special order a down rod of a different size than the two options included.
As for the wattage - there are 8 lights and the room is very bright but not too bright. Hope this helps!

Can you turn the fan on without having the lights on? And does it require a 2 switch light switch toinstall?
One switch is enough for this fan. The Fan and the lights can be operated individually by the remote.

Are the light bulbs dimmable? If no, can LED bulbs be substituted (by purchaser) that are dimmable?
The light bulbs are not dimmable and the RMT012 remote doesn't have dimming control. Dimmable LED bulbs can be substituted.
