Stools
A stool has many uses beyond sitting. A step stool, for example, is common for shorter people who still need to reach heights for cabinets and things of that nature. They also provide seating for anyone who finds themselves short of a chair. Stools also vary in terms of their size. Current style suggests a trend toward tall, bar-type stools that can even have full backs on them. Though these can be more difficult to store, they provide more comfortable seating. A stool can even be a wonderful way to bring a little style and flair to a small space.
Some of the most common forms of stools are:
Needlepoint stool - Typically made with a wooden base, these are beautifully embroidered with various kinds of designs and colors. They are classic and elaborate, bringing to mind Victorian rooms and Grandma's home.
Saddle Seat stool - These generally mimic the shape of a person's bottom, giving them a classic saddle look. They can have backs, although they typically do not. The classic versions are often leather over wood and are very masculine. The newer versions are typically possess a very modern look.
Damask Stool - This is a form of upholstered stool that can be either modern or classic. It comes in many prints and colors, and can be made to suit just about any decor.
Ceramic Stool - These are normally used for outdoor use, such as for a garden stool, but can add interesting touches to interior decor as well.
No matter what the inside of your home looks like, there is a stool to fit the style. A metal stool is perfect for more modern design palates, while a wood stool or a leather stool are more reminiscent of times gone by. For ultra-modern looks, a stack stool set may even be appropriate. Stools do not even have to be in the home. Garden stools are very common for people who love to garden but have trouble getting on their knees to do it.
Whether looking for home, office or garden, there is a stool for everyone.
