I was surprised the shade is plastic, I guess I was expecting it to be glass. Thinking about it though that would make the light heavy and hard to hang, needing multiple anchor points, which would take away from the illusion is floating above the mirror! Ultimately, I am super happy with it. I appreciate the classic, clean lines that are modern yet could fit in with a lot of styles. We had zero trouble installing the fixture and it only took maybe 20 minutes max. The light is the perfect color temperature – slightly warm, and not harsh or flickery. It casts an even bright light in the bathroom. Now I need to upgrade and renovate the rest of the bathroom to go with our new gorgeous light!

The moment i turned on the light this thing was super bright lighted up my whole bathroom. It was perfect length and design. The only thing i didnt like was the package it came in to weak and the plastic covering was broken from a corner.

what type of bulbs does this take if i need to replace it?

Hello: The 11148NILED has a built in LED diode which is not replaceable. If the LED stops functioning then the entire fixture would need replaced. Thank you for contacting Kichler.
