Can this light be hung without the down rod? What is the minimum height if you can leave out the down rod? I need to hang close to the ceiling.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, no, at least 1 of the supplied downrods must be used to hang this fixture. Minimum hanging height with 1x 6 Inch downrod is 12 Inch.
