Which is closer to a stainless or brushed nickel look, the polished or satin nickel? From the website photos the polished nickel looks closer to a stainless or brushed nickel look. Trying the match faucets and fixtures in a bathroom.

Is the on off switch on this and will it function without the cord to plug in? I don't have a light switch to connect it to and don't want to have to plug it in.

Yes, it has an On/Off switch, however installation is needed. If you do not want this switch you can just ignore it.
