Is this fixture down lighting only and up to what maximum wattage is allowable for bulbs?

Yes, this Fixture is designed to cast light in the downwards direction. It can accommodate up to 4 watt LED which is included.

We like the look but not bright enough with the included 4 watt LED bulb. Can we replace the bulb with a brighter one? How bright can we go...does it matter?
