We ordered two of these sconces and were very pleased with their look and functionality. One required an adjustment to align the arms of the sconce with the back plate. No wall hardware is included.

I would like to order this fixture and have it ready to be hardwired. Does that mean the piece in the picture that goes down from the bottom of the fixture would not be there? I'm assuming that is a cord cover? This is to go above open kitchen shelving.
This Antique Brass Boston Functional Library Fixture can be mount either direct wire or cord cover assembly. For direct wire assembly: Affix mounting plate (N) to wall outlet box with mounting screws provided. Cut fixture cord twelve inches away from fixture base and remove by grasping plug (G) and pulling out of cord cover. Connect the ground screw (green color) of the fixture to the bare copper ground wire in the outlet box. The insulation on the fixture cord that was cut to twelve inches in length in step 3 has a smooth side and a ribbed side. Connect the smooth wire to the black wire in the outlet box (not shown in diagram). Connect the ribbed wire to the white wire in the outlet box. Attach fixture base. One other question- does the fixture come with the ability to extend anywhere from 9-25 inches? Or do you specify that before ordering?
This Fixture features an adjustable arm extension range from 9” to 25” -inch.

What are the moving components of this "swing arm" I understand the arm swings up and down, but does the lamp shade move to provide task reading lighting in bed. Thank you
No the shade doesn’t move. It can be adjusted as to the angle, but once adjusted it doesn’t swing freely.
