Fall Home Decor Trends We're Falling Hard For

  • Rattan Pendant Lighting for Dining Room
  • Fall has made its big debut, and so has the season’s hottest home décor trends. Bid adieu to summer and welcome in autumnal elegance with these four signature styles of the season.

    1. Rattan Accents

Natural, hearty textures are all the rage this fall, especially when it comes to rattan. At once boho and chic, this tactile material feels breezy and laid-back without compromising on high style. It also boasts a neutral colortone, so it pairs seamlessly with your existing decor. Start small with a rattan picture frame, basket, or tray, or take it a step further with a side table or lamp.

    2. Geometric and Abstract Prints

It’s time to welcome back the geometric and abstract art of Piccaso’s heyday. Use a brightly rendered print or painting as a focal point on the wall, or a patterned, statement-making rug to celebrate the time-honored trend. We also like a more modern, sculptural take on the shapely look. If you’re not ready to fully commit to the head-turning style, keep it simple with a color-blocked throw pillow.

    3. Curvy Silhouettes

The crisp and clean lines of a Scandinavian-inspired home will always be in, but this season we’ve found a new appreciation for curves and angles. Trade in your square coffee table for a more sinuous one, or embrace a barrel chair or curved sofa that envelopes you from all angles. And you don’t need to stick strictly to circles and ovals—organic, undulating shapes will also do! The natural curves of homemade accents and tubular table legs and sconce stems are also welcome.

4. Bright Colors and Bold Patterns

Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you have to ditch rich patterns and bold coloration. Amp up a neutral-hued space with a blanket, throw pillow, or accent chair in one of this year’s “it colors,” like purple and forest green. You can also tackle the trend with a rug that has a saturated color scheme and cheerful print to make an immediate impression.
