Can the rod be cut to shorten the length in this light?

Is there an extension pole available for the light? My ceiling is slightly slanted by a skylight and the fixture hangs a bit slanted. An extension would straighten the fixture.

Is this fixture compatible with an LED dimmer switch?
This fixture will work with a standard dimmer switch only. For LED bulbs a Low Voltage Electronic Dimmer (which supports LED bulbs) has to be used.
