Does this give ambient light (decorative) vs functional lighting?  I like the look but need a light that will really brighten up the space.

This Floor Lamp exudes soft glow that creates an intimate ambience. It can use up to a 150 W 3-way bulb. The three-setting light switch/bulb also allows for brighter light if needed.
