Can you use a regular lamp mount if the photocell is on the post or are you still required to use a solar lamp as well?

This post comes with a photo eye so the light will turn on-off automatically at dusk dawn but this will not work with solar lights. This is designed to be wired into regular power.

can the height of the pole be adjusted?  I need two of these and the mounting pads are at different heights but I want the lamps to be level.  So I need to be able to cut the post on one of them to lower the top down to the height needed.

No, the pad mount posts cannot be cut down or resized.
