Looks nice in silver
Our new home required ceiling fans for the bedrooms. The style had to be contemporary and the color brushed nickel or similar. These came in silver and that was close enough. The installation was fairly simple and took about 30 minutes for each fan. Prior to purchasing I did some WWW investigation and one item indicated this fan makes a slight buzzing sound from the AC motor and running the fan for 24 hours would minimize the sound. This was indeed correct. This fan has a RC but reverse is not available via the RC. To reverse the fan requires using a switch on the fan. Beware, if you install on a high vaulted ceiling you might want to get a fan with a reverse built into the RC else you'll need a step ladder to flip the switch to change blade direction. Most important is my wife is extremely happy with this fan. Need I say more?

Excellent purchase!
I bough this fan for our master bedroom and we love it. It looks great, provides excellent air circulation, and the dimmer feature on the light is perfect for a bedroom. Also, there were several comments in other reviews regarding the loudness of the fan motor. We're not experiencing that at all. There is a slight home but it is not louder than any other fan. I'll definitely check out MinkaAire's other fans for the guest bedroom.

Great fan!
I bought this fan to replace the fan in our bedroom. The old fan was loud, wobbly, and the light was very intense but somehow didn't cast much light. This fan is sleek and quiet. It's silent on the first 2 levels and hums quietly on the highest level, but the majority of the hum is due to the amount of air it circulates. The light fills the room, but dims to a pleasant glow. Ideal for a bedroom or living room.

The fan is great- but the built in light is soooooo dim-I don't see a way to upgrade it as it is integrated. We replaced a fan light combo in our bedroom - and this light is basically a spotlight. The fans is a quality fan, quiet and powerful- but I never would have bought this if I realized how much darker and shadowed my room would be. Don't buy this fan light combo if you actually need the light.

Defective fans
I like the style of the fan very much but if I had to buy it again I wouldn’t this is the second defective fan I’m going through, the company has been very understanding in replacing it, but I have to wonder when will it stop running again, I had to bring in the electrician 2xs. The fans are only 2 months old, I am now waiting for my second replacement fan, now another vist $$ from the electrician

Minka Aire Wave fans
My husband and I have admired the look of the Minka Aire Wave fans for quite a while. We ordered two of the driftwood finish fans and had waited for them for four months. Then I found them on Build! We had the fans within a weekl I will admit that I was a little disappointed that these are not made from real word but they still look nice and function really well. Happy with our purchase!

Love This Fan
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this installed a year ago and now I’m back for a new one for my bedroom. We have the silver for our living room and ill be getting the koa for our bedroom. Had many different price level fans throughout the years and this is our most favorite. Received so many compliments on the fan. Remote works perfectly also.

Deceptive regarding reverse
The description states that the fan is reversible however what they dont tell you is that you must bring in a ladder, climb up to the ceiling, remove the cap and then manually reverse the fan. For the money this isn’t acceptable. Ordered two cans and on top of learning how to reverse one fan is defective and won’t work at all even after reprogramming and resetting.

Attractive fans.
Purchased three Minka-Aire ceiling fans for new home, Light Wave model. All arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Absolutely beautiful if you are into this style of fan. All three were installed by professional electrician who said they were nice fans. Very pleased so far. It is winter here, so I have not used them very much as of this writing.

The look is great. We just got them installed. They are not quiet. I need a fan on at night, and these definitely annoy you when you are trying to sleep. During the day with tv noise and everything, you don't hear the "pulsing" noise. Even my husband who is deaf can hear it and is annoyed by it. They were expensive, so disappointed in the quality.

Light Covers Defective
Purchased these from another vendor and just got them installed by a relative who is a licensed contractor. One globe would not fit on the fan at all, it was clearly defective. The second one was less defective and could be mounted on the fan, but it fell off yesterday, fortunately missing the people in the house and not breaking on the carpet.

gorgeous fan
I was in love with the minka aire artemis fan but it was a budget buster--I was thrilled when I found this fan as a more affordable alternative. We had this installed in our living room a month ago and it's stunning. So graceful and quiet. The light is bright but warm. I don't feel like I sacrificed anything choosing this one over the artemis.

Good except turns on randomly
Looks very nice and love the styling. We bought two. The silver is a lighter silver and pretty. Only problem we are having is that one of the lights randomly comes on in the middle of the night or the fan speed accelerates without us doing anything. We took the battery out of the remote but it still happens. The other ones doesn’t do this.

Perfect Fan
I had this fan installed a month ago. I love the way it looks and works. I was concerned about the noise level that previous customers talked about. My fan is super quiet even on the highest setting. I wonder if the previous customers who complained about the noise had a balance problem which caused the problem. This can be easily fixed.

Minka Air fan
The light is not a 3000k, more like 4500-6000. Very white and unattractive. The fan blades are gorgeous. The unit is relatively easy to install. I ordered 2, one came with a bad receiver. I spoke to both Minka and Build about ordering another receiver a month ago, have not heard from either since. The fan with the good receiver works well.

If you're wanting this fan to be located in a quiet room, keep searching. The motor in this product is loud. If you don't mind the noise but are sensitive to bright light, keep searching. The light is blinding.
If you're looking for a noisy fan that you can also use as a high output spot light, this is your fan!

We had four of these fans installed by an electrician in 2020. Two run quietly. One had to be returned because it was defective. It was so loud when it ran. The fourth fan is quiet on a low speed but creates a loud humming on medium and high speeds. We've always had hunter-douglas and they were perfectly quiet.

Great sleek fan.
This fan is wonderful, very sleek looking and silent when running. The remote feature makes it nice also. The fan was shipped nicely and there was no damage and all parts were included. I would highly recommend this fan if you want a simplified look instead of what I would call my old fan, as clunky.

Great looking, quiet but light adjustability is limited.
I really dislike the look of fans in general, but my boyfriend insisted we needed one in the family room. This MinkaAire Wave Distressed Koa is very attractive and stylish. The 52" provides plenty of air for my taste, but doesn't crank it out, which some people might want (there is a larger, 4-blade style that would do more). The one thing I don't like is that the light is on a continuous switch, so you are only able to hold down the button on the remote as it scales down and when you get to the lowest setting, if you keep holding, it automatically jumps back to the highest setting. Also, the lowest setting is not dim enough for me, especially when I just want evening mood lighting. I am not sure how to change out the LED light, but I'll be looking into it. Still, I won't ever have any way to change the way the switch operates. It's such a good looking fan, that I'd probably choose it again, even with this limitation, unless I could find something similar with a traditional dimmer switch.

Don't be misled by finish descriptions!
I bought this a month or so ago and was disappointed with the finish. Distressed Koa, wrong! description should have read; plastic with Distressed Koa finish. Would have been more accurate. I was expecting real wood (Koa) and disappointed to get plastic.
It works great and is quiet.

The Perfect Fan !!
Love this product. The installation was simple - followed the instructions - each step in order has a reason. The unique design subtly fits our lake house motif. The remote control makes switching from low, medium, high speed a breeze (pun intended). Had to give it a 5-Star rating!

Poor quality and weak air displacement
The wind displacement is very average for this fan. And the blades are made out of plastic. I contacted customer service to exchange the blades for larger ones, but I was told it wasn't doable. MinkeAire does good quality fans, but I wouldn't put this one in that category.

Beatufiul fan...didn't need downrods
We ordered this fan for our monosloped roof, discussed with online chat what downrods we might need, ordered 2 12" rods, and ended up not needing either of them. The rods that came with the fan were just enough for the blades to pass the lower part of the roof.

The fan is exactly as pictured and is gorgeous. I like that it is close to the ceiling . With only 3 blades it still moves plenty of air around. My electrician had no prpblem with the install. The only downside for me is the led light. lt glares in my eyes.

Works Well With Any Design Style

Coolest fan ever!
Made a great choice for this fan. Looks beautiful in our vaulted ceiling in the great room. Lots of compliments from everyone! Electrician had a little trouble installing but when it was re-set, it worked great. The remote control is an added bonus.

It doesn’t come with a main part!
The extension rod is not included which baffles me because you can’t install the fan without this major part. Make sure you know this before buying. The fact that this part is not included is a huge pain. I would not recommend this product.

We bought one fan and have ordered two more for the other bedrooms. Installation was easy and fan works well, plenty of air movement for bedroom but maybe not enough for a real large area. Led light throws plenty of light.

I'm not familiar with Koa wood. I have floors that are close to walnut. Would this be compatible with it?
The finish is a beautiful brown - not too red and not too grey. The pictures seem pretty true to the color - I'd imagine it would look great with walnut.
It's true that it isn't actual wood, but you can not tell - it's really really well done!

Check the actual measurement of course, but the fan is very sleek and takes up very little visual space. It will LOOK much smaller than a traditional fan of the same diameter.

Summer/winter function switch is manual and has to be toggled at a switch near the fan motor.
It has 3 speeds.
I installed it at an 8 foot height. It looks great and functions perfectly. I will say, it was a tight squeeze to install it with only the short down rod.

I own this fan and I love it. My only complaint is the color temperature of the light. It's white not yellow (2700k - 3000k) so it's like being in an operating room /office when it's on. Is there a replacement bulb with a different color temperature?
