Does this fan move the air like a traditional fan? Can you feel the air movement?
It doesn't move it as much as a regular fan. But we have ours over our bed and it works just fine. The air is circulated more downward and not as much outward if that makes sense.

How long is the down rod? Is it possible to purchase a longer one in the finish of the fan?
This Fan includes 18" downrod. Please contact our Customer Care Department for further assistance with the longer downrods available for this Fan.
