It lets off a lot of light which is perfect because my entryway is pretty dark. I was thinking of getting a smaller version for over my stairs as well.

can this be used outside or is it rated for outside? I live in the Northeast so pretty cold and snowy winters. However, this lantern will be installed under a porch.

Does the light cause reflection on walls and ceiling?

Yes, the rods on the top of the fixture reflect on the ceiling. However, I've never noticed them, so I guess it doesn't look bad.

The faceplate is a trapezoid shape. The sides are 14 3/4" long, The top is 16"wide and the bottom is 12 1/8" wide.

Can this be put on a screened and covered porch?

Hi Kelly, I think it would do fine outside, covered and screened is even better. The lamp is open (no glass panels) and I cannot speak for the manufacturer about outdoor use as far as future rust etc., but I would use it outdoors. I bought 3 sizes, one for entry, one long one for the dining room and this one for the kitchen nook. I remodeled my home and it sold in 6 days, I think these geometric lights are very "in" right now and I know they helped give my home that updated look it needed to sell. Hope this helped.
