Can the stem be removed to allow for closer mounting to the ceiling? Thanks.

You may adjust the chain link to mount the fixture on the screw collar attached to the ceiling canopy, to attain the shorter length.

Can I customize the length of the chandelier from the ceiling? Does it come with long/extra chain, rod and wire which can be cut down to the size I need? Thanks.

We're sorry, it cannot be customized with extra rod or wire. There are three links in the chain and the fixture loop can only be linked into any of these three chain links for adjustment.
