It took me and my husband about 3x longer than we thought it would, including having to take the whole mount apart and starting over after thinking we were almost done. We're not novices either. Whatever the case, this putting this light in is definitely a two-person job. I can't really see how someone could put it in alone. Once it was done, it looked nice. It is in our guest bedroom and provides sufficient lighting.
